Little Cabin Films offers nonprofit video services in Chicago, Michigan, the Midwest and nationwide. Nonprofit video encompasses a wide variety of video types including charity campaign videos, explainer videos, fundraising videos, crowdfunding videos, social media videos and social media content, short documentary films and feature length documentary films. Video is one of the most effective ways for nonprofit organizations to connect with donors at charity events and fundraising events, create media buzz about the organization, increase donations, and amplify nonprofit marketing campaigns.
Second Wind, a film about a double lung transplant recipient, sponsored by the Three Lakes Foundation, is a great case study in how video can help an organization efficiently spread its message. The foundation used the short-film as the facilitator to garner news media coverage, write articles in industry publications, spread impactful social media content and enter into film festivals across the country. We are so proud it won a silver Telly Award for best nonprofit videos 2021. The film was a partnership with Los Angeles based advertising agency, Giant Propellor with Little Cabin Films acting as the documentary producer and documentary crew for on-location filming. Giant Propellor relied on us to execute end-to-end documentary production including location scouting, storyboarding, subject pre-interviews, film location permitting, shoot day scheduling and communication, equipment handling, on-location sound, cinematography and digital footage transfer.
SNAP, the Survivors Network of those Abuse by Priests, is the largest, oldest and most active support group for people sexually abused by religious & institutional authorities. SNAP not only helps support survivors, but also aims to inform the world of the abuse epidemic in order to protect our children and the vulnerable. Little Cabin Films was referred to SNAP through a previous client and worked collaboratively together throughout 2022 to help bring authenticity to survivor stories and highlight the history, mission & support of the organization. Trust was central to the partnership because of the sensitive subject matter, and we went the extra mile to ensure each interview subject was comfortable and at-ease with the camera’s presence and often uncomfortable questions. Because of our authentic storytelling style, the short documentary created for SNAP was awarded a Gold Muse Award for best video- nonprofit 2023.
